We talk about three things today. First, a rundown of the U.S. Open, focusing a lot on NBC’s coverage but a good amount on the actual tournament itself.
Second we talk about the World Cup. I’ll admit I had hoped to talk more about England and France than we did. I’m still really worked up about the USMNT victory that was taken away.
Last, we discuss the passing of Manute Bol. A sad story, but an inspiring man.
Thanks for listening.

The 1994 World Cup has the record for most attendance per game and total attendance. And that was with 24 teams, not 32. I think if we get the 2022 World Cup it will be because we can guarantee a moneymaker and sellouts. Not to mention, our stadiums are built for huge events (10 of the 18 bid cities have or will host Super Bowls; the others are cold NFL stadiums). Even if they pick England for 2018, they will have to do a lot of renovations to get ready. USA just has to worry about usual upkeep to get ready for 12 years down the road.
