		<description>Hi Dan, your hall of fame is a great idea. in fact, the australian football league has a similar concept and ties in those who qualify for longevity as well: 

- players who play 200 games qualify for life membership, which comes with free entry to all games, special events and functions

- the hall of fame is elected by club, competition and media representatives. This is a hall of great players and coaches and administrators (incl umpires), with past and current players eligible after a waiting period. 

- There is a special section of the hall of fame for those known as LEGENDS. These are the best of the best. This is limited to ~10% of the hall (23 total now).

There is still controversy, but there is no doubt that the Legends are really the top tier.
