Yes, we went from 100 to 104, sue us. In this episode we talk about our New Years Resolutions, both personally/professionally and what we’d like to resolve in sports. We also get some resolutions from our wonderful listening audience and share those at the end. But first...

We enlist some help from around the blogosphere from AJ Daulerio at Deadspin, Jamie Mottram from Mister Irrelevant and Yahoo! and Drew Magary from Kissing Suzy Kolber.

Daulerio:

We talk about Daulerio’s resolution for the new year and look back on the tumultuous year 2008 was for the editor of one of the biggest sports blogs in the ‘sphere. His favorite baseball team won the title. Up. He had some personal relationships....cease. Down. He got the job as editor of Deadspin. Up. He explains his job by calling it a “soul-sucking managerial role” and something he did not expect at all. Down?

We also talk about the Eagles in the playoffs, their chances and if this is really a good thing for the future of the franchise. And we go in depth on the changes taking place by the minute at Deadspin. More to come? Are they working? What does the future hold....

Mottram:

We talk about Mottram’s resolution to take better care of himself physically. It’s something we all should do, and I think he made me feel a little guilty for not having been to the doctor since....carry the two...the 90s.

We also talk about soul-sucking with respect to the soul-sucking nature of being a fan of the teams in Washington. Mottram does not seem so optimistic about the chances of anything going well in DC anytime soon. He blames Vinny Cerrato for basically everything. But does admit that if the Caps go on a Stanley Cup run, he’ll be the first on the bandwagon. We look back on the year that was for him, personally and at Yahoo! and wonder what the future holds for the Yahoo! blogs (perhaps a new podcast venture.....yes, I get down to groveling).

Big Daddy Drew

With Drew, we try to get through the interview without him cursing (fail) and talk about his resolution to win a Tony award. We also talk about the upcoming Vikings-Eagles matchup, and ask who Brad Childress looks most like - Major Dad or Mr. Noodle. Yes, there are two Sesame Street references as well as several Yogi Bear. It’s what happens when you’re a dad. Drew disputes Mottram’s assertion that Cerrato is to blame for everything, claiming that Cerrato is to blame for nothing. Someone’s right, right?

We also talk about my feud with Bill Simmons and whether or not I have a feud with Bill Simmons. And there’s some hilarious trash talking between Nick and Drew.

Oh, and we read listener mail! We talk about some of our listeners personal resolutions and sports resolutions and give our own for the new year. And just because I love all of you, I get on one last soap box for the year.
