ON THE DL
Chuck Norris Wants To Put Congress In A Choke Hold
Chuck. Norris. On the DL.
The toughest man on the planet joins the DL to talk about...whatever the hell he wants. He’s Chuck (Freaking) Norris.
In all seriousness, Norris has a book out called Black Belt Patriotism and joins the show to talk about how his brand of politics can help save the country. As the book’s tag-line says, “America’s Toughest Problems Are No Match For Chuck Norris.” Honestly, I believe them.
His ideas are pretty simple. Basically, he suggests we go back to the way things were 200 years ago. The taxes, the beliefs, the values. On it’s face, it seems far-fetched, but it’s after listening to him explain his plan to ‘save this country’ it’s actually a pretty interesting concept.
In what seemed to be the prepared statement portion of the program, he talks about his ideas for changing the tax laws to fix the deficit and get us out of this recession. He hates the current tax structure.
We talk about his thoughts on Barack Obama and if he thinks the new POTUS will practice what he preaches. In other words, how much Hope and Change does Norris expect?
We talk about the corruption in congress, and Norris has some strong words (and actions) for those on the Hill. He is not happy with all the special interests and lobbyists lining the pockets of Washington politicians. If this were a Chucktocracy, he’d go to Washington – with Ron Paul by his side – and ask Paul who is corrupt. The honest can stay, but the corrupt, well:
“I’d walk up to him and say, ‘you’re fired.’ And if he didn’t move immediately, I’d choke him unconscious and drag him over.”
Well then. I also ask if he has any political aspirations. Does he want to venture into formal politics, say, as a Governor?
“Let’s say I’m running for Governor of Texas and I’m running against a guy and we’re debating each other and he starts attacking my character, which you see a lot in these debates. And I leap over the desk and I choke him unconscious. Would that help my campaign?”
Seriously, who would run against Chuck Norris and expect to win – or live?
Finally, we talk about some sports, framed within the Second Amendment. What does Norris think about the Plaxico Burress situation and what does he think about people who are using the case as a pulpit for the right to bear arms?
