ON THE DL
Daulerio is Back On the DL
AJ Daulerio comes back on the show in his monthly spot. We talk about the goings on at Deadspin (new comment bubbles that can be nested!) and why my wife doesn’t like him. Or more specifically, why she doesn’t like me when AJ is on the show.
It turns out, my wife thinks the show is different when AJ comes on. She thinks there is more of a locker room feel to the show and we lose a little bit of credibility. I told that to AJ a few weeks ago and he wanted a chance to win my wife over. Listen to let me know if he has.
We get into an interesting conversation about his last year and what it’s like working every day in sports. AJ once told me that if he wasn’t working at Deadspin, he’s not sure he’d be a sports blogger so much as a writer, so I asked him to compare this time last year to now.
This leads to a topic that I know very well...sports is a vice for millions of people. Sports is a place you go to get away from your job. But when sports IS your job, you need other vices. I’ve always wanted to know if someone like AJ feels the same way, blogging about sports for 10 hours every day. So I ask.

We talk about baseball, and specifically the end of Yankee Stadium. Is it as big a deal as the media and MLB is making it? We also discuss our own Yankee Stadium memories.
It wouldn’t be a full show with Daulerio if we didnt’ talk NL East, and discuss the Phillies and Mets rivalry. Did you know that Phillies fans booed the Phanatic for missing a foul ball on Monday? Phantastic. Nobody is off the hook in Philly.
Last, the Phillies are offering a cruise for fans to enjoy. On the ship will be Shane Victorino, JC Romero, Greg Luzinski and Larry Anderson. That might be the best four Phillies I could ever imagine going on a cruise with. If Daulerio could go on a cruise with anyone in baseball, who would it be.
