How Good Are The Broncos? MLB Playoffs Get Set, Philly Getting Screwed? Plus Curb, Olympics, Dave, Poker!

We start with some football talk. How about MY DENVER BRONCOS!

Yes, I’m hopping back on the bandwagon. Well, that’s not fair, but Denver has to be the story of the NFL season so far. How stupid do those who said they wouldn’t win two games feel? Probably as stupid as those puffing their chest out at 4-0. They could easily be 4-4, so we’ll see. We do a quick run through of some of the surprises up to this point as well. DENVER!

Talking Baseball:

We set up the playoffs scenarios for MLB and talk about how the MLB and TBS hate the World F’ing Champs. The Phillies and Rockies are the least sexy matchup, so they get the first game, a 2:37 start time on Wednesday. But BOTH days? They are making it virtually impossible for people to watch their team. Shouldn’t MLB mix it up a bit? Of course, with two West Coast hosted series on Thursday, it would mean having the Yankees be the early game on Wednesday. Don’t think that’s happening.

So the Phillies fans get hosed. But kids can get to watch, right?

We also address the fact that, other than Colorado (and maybe

Minnesota) there are a lot of baseball towns in the playoffs. There’s a long debate here about whether it’s a football town or a baseball town. That debate will never end -- well, unless the Phillies win another World Series. But this town loves its baseball, brining in over 3.6 million fans this year to the ballpark.

Then you think about St. Louis, Detroit, Los Angeles and Los Angeles/Anaheim, Boston and New York. All baseball towns. Especially when the Yankees are the NY team. It’s a great set of cities for MLB, so while the national ratings may not be good, expect the local ratings to be through the roof.

Except at 2:37 local time, that might be hard.
