ON THE DL
Enrico from The 700 Level on the DL
Enrico Campitelli Jr. from Philly sports blog The 700 Level joins the show to talk about all things...well, Philly sports.
We chat with Enrico about the success of The 700 Level and his work with AOL Fanhouse. We also talk about the economics of blogging (Enrico is going for him MBA, so he has some expertise in the matter) and discuss the business behind the blogosphere.
I know we talk a lot on this show about the “blog wars” but ultimately it goes beyond old columnists and reporters being nervous their spots will be taken by a new wave of talent. There’s more to it, and I’m starting to realize a lot of it comes down to money. Why are newspapers dying, but blogs are starting up everywhere and thriving...no overhead, no staff, no inflated salaries. It’s an interesting discussion, and since Enrico is pretty good at this whole business stuff, we get his thoughts on things.
We then run the gamut of Philly sports, including the Eagles draft, Sixers and Flyers playoff runs and the up-and-down Phillies.
After the interview, Nick and Dan touch on Roger Clemens being outed as a pedophile and discuss why politicians should NEVER go to church.
